For some, the challenges of aging include dealing with loss and loneliness. The problem is particularly severe for those in long-term care facilities who have no outside relationships. Few people would guess that as many as 60% of long- term care residents in some communities never receive any visitors. Long-term care experts report that this isolation can lead to depression, despair, detachment, and even premature death.

Senior Connections offers a life-enriching solution. This distinctive program provides warmth, hope and joy for lonely long-term care residents through specially trained companions called Relational Volunteers. Likewise, the program offers an opportunity for community volunteers to enjoy gratifying new relationships with aging seniors who still have much to contribute to the lives of others.
